"In the Menasha Public Schools, we assess students' writings to provide us information "of learning" and "for learning." Every student is formally assessed in the district twice per year. Individual and collective results are communicated virtually instantly – to individual teachers to inform instruction, to parents, to administrators, to the students themselves, and to board members.
Write-Track allows us to gather and distribute information about each student's writing skills and to "data mine" for programmatic decisions. Since our use of a district-wide writing assessment, facilitated by the Write-Track Web-based program, our students' writing skills have improved dramatically.
